6 years after the release of the acclaimed Jordansfrost, Sonne Hagal return with an album that will leave a mark, not only in the band discography but also on the genre as a whole. On this new Ockerwasser, the band does nothing more than perfect their old formula: the acoustic instruments are here, the electronic parts are here (the beginning of Thyme being the most obvious) and the deep poetry is here, but it wasn't by chance that the band took so long to release this gem to the hungry audience. During the first hearings one might be tricked to think it's a simples album, but a deeper listening to the details and, more importantly, to the lyrics removes the veil and shows the world what it truly is: a profound album, hermetic and intimate which leaves us thinking. And with Autumn arriving, this becomes the perfect company to the rainy days ahead. Serious candidate to the "album of the year" category. |
